~Falcon 3
Landing Tips.
I'm having a problem on landing. On final approach I'm tring to
maintain an angle of attack of 10 to 13 degrees and keep my airspeed
at 200 but it just starts to climb, even if I'm down to 150 it still
climbs and according to the flight manual it should drop out of the
sky like a rock at that speed. Anyone else have this problem?
Please help.
~First off, what are you looking at for the 10 to 13 Deg AOA? Are
~you relying on the HUD? If so, that is not correct - you need to
~look at the AOA tape.
~Second, the F-16 will float in ground effect and you nearly need to
~slam it on the runway so make sure you aren't using your flaps.
~Third, use your speedbrake, the flight modeling of the landings in
~Falcon 3 is not correct. You very nearly will always do better to
~just dive in and do a flare from 50 feet AGL and then let it settle
~in and once below 150 kts, use aerodynamic braking to slow down and
~then drop onto the nose wheel.
~I think we'll be seeing some more realistic landings with the sims
~coming out. Falcon 4 will likely be better in this respect. Back
~To Baghdad will not allow you to be too far out of parameters on
~landings or you will crash and die - if you are flying at max
~realism. A 13 deg AOA in B2B is a must and the landings feel just
~like a real one.
